An aircraft passenger managed to capture footage of an unidentified object above the city.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube after being sent to an Australian UFO group, was taken by a passenger through the window of an airplane.

The object, which appears white in color and roughly circular in shape, comes in to view from the far left and passes below the aircraft in a straight line towards the right of the frame at considerable speed.

Little else is known about the footage other than that it was allegedly recorded several years before being posted online. Whether it shows a genuine object however remains a matter of some debate, critics argue that it could simply be a hoax created using video editing software.

Over 200 students and teachers witnessed an unexplained flying object on Wednesday 6th April 1966 around 11.00 am. They reported it descended into a nearby open wild grass field adjacent to a grove of pine trees in an area known as The Grange. The object then ascended in a north-westerly direction over the suburb of Clayton South.

Mr Ryan has interviewed about 30 witnesses, mostly former staff and students from the Westall secondary and primary schools. He has tried obtaining police and RAAF reports, but so far with little luck. The story was covered then by Channel Nine, The Age and local newspapers.

On the UFO, everyone seems to agree, Mr Ryan says. It was a low-flying, silver/grey shining object, either of classical flying saucer shape or close to it, "a cup turned upside down on a saucer". The students were familiar with light aircraft because the schools were close to Moorabbin Airport. Although the UFO was of similar size, "everyone said straight away that they knew it was not a plane", Mr Ryan said, nor a weather balloon.

The object was in view for up to 20 minutes, and many saw it descend. Most agree it landed behind pine trees at the Grange Reserve. Dozens of students ran across what was then an open paddock to the reserve to investigate, but the object had lifted off and vanished.

I spotted this very large and bright object flying overhead very high in the sky, I caught this clip on my iphone just as it was passing the star Sirius which I have tried to use as a reference in the video, the object was travelling directly North to South & I am facing east this was heading out over Bass Straight, there was NO flashing lights at all and it appeared as a large triangle with 3 consistant light sources although you can't really see that in this video.

Further... I did ask the Pleiadians to make an appearance so I could record it on my new iphone 5 (as a test) only minutes before this appeared...YES I'm that crazy and yes this is what I filmed.

I Dont think its chemtrails, there was no planes around and if it were made by planes it would mean from the angle of the clouds they would have had to be doing nose dives in surbubia and taking off on main roads.

I was filming a double rainbow for a video yesterday. I didn't notice anything at the time of filming as i was looking through the viewfinder & though there were some birds flying around. It wasn't until i looked at the footage while editing that i saw what looks like some sort of flying object. I have no idea what it was so i guess for now i'll call it a ufo sighting.

5-30-11 STRANGE UFO SIGHTED OVER TASMANIA AUSTRALIA FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS

Brendon Hill first saw the flashing lights above Mayfield on Thursday night from his backyard balcony at Riverside.

He then witnessed the same lights on Saturday night.




"On Thursday I dragged my three mates outside to show them and they were bewildered - none of them could describe what they saw or could come up with an explanation of what it was," Mr Hill said.

Mr Hill looked at the site of the flashing lights through his binoculars the next day and said he could not see anything that would generate the same pulsing light.

"There are no buildings or towers in that area that could generate that much light - it was very strange how I couldn't see anything during the day," he said.

On Saturday about 9pm Mr Hill saw the flashing lights again and this time caught them on his video camera.

"It made my hair stand up on my neck," he said.

"It seems so unhuman, it doesn't resemble anything I have seen before and after seeing it with my own eyes it feels very spooky."

A Bureau of Meteorology Launceston spokesman said no sightings of Mr Hill's description were reported to the office.

However, there were reports of the Aurora Australis - or southern lights - which sends bright green and red lights flashing across the sky .

"The Aurora is more of a swirling, wave-like look across the whole sky: it does not sounds like his description," the spokesman said.

Launceston Air Traffic Control also did not have any reportings of the lights.

The Australian Defence Department was unable to comment.

Mr Hill said he had no reason to believe it was anything man-made.

"I don't mind if it turns out to be something really boring because it would put my mind at ease," he said.

"It's annoying not knowing what it was. My mind keeps ticking over trying to figure out what it could be."
